The first thing to do is to go to your local County Court and ask for a bankruptcy pack. You will also need a fee of just under £500 to cover the overall cost of going bankrupt. With the completed bankruptcy pack and fees return to the County Court, you should set aside a day or so. After a brief chat with a Judge, based on your circumstances they will create the bankruptcy order. You then go to the Official Receiver, who will ask you about your income and circumstances and give you some more forms to fill in. That’s it!
